We are excited to announce Reel Docs: A Documentary Film Series, dedicated to offering heartfelt, thought-provoking international documentaries to the community of San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. This year-round series will offer San Miguel residents and visitors alike the opportunity to explore diverse documentary films that they may have not had the opportunity to view otherwise.

Reel Docs features international documentary films with their filmmakers in La Biblioteca Pública, one of the largest bilingual libraries in Mexico, in an intimate 82-seat theatre. San Miguel is famous for our large expatriate and tourist populations, which support the many cultural activities the city has to offer.

If you would like our selection committee to consider your film, please mail a DVD of your film to our mail service in the States for screening:

We ask that all filmmakers submitting materials be prepared to travel to San Miguel for the public screening of your film and participate in local Q&A sessions, if selected.  Reel Docs will provide local housing for filmmakers. Selected films for upcoming Reel Docs series will be grouped around common themes. Therefore, screening dates will be confirmed with all filmmakers prior to each series.

If you would like more information or have questions, please drop us a line at info@reeldocs.org.

As a documentary filmmaker, I am passionate about contributing to the community in San Miguel by bringing in one fabulous film at a time.
